After the Education Committee voted earlier this month to support LD 1892: An Act Regarding Funding for School Construction, we are expecting that the full House and Senate could vote on the bill as soon as this week.

With that in mind, please reach out to your legislators and ask them for their support. LD 1892 would:

•           Make meaningful, ongoing investments in school renovation projects — benefitting districts from all across Maine

•           Increase debt service capacity for school construction, ensuring more schools get built and fewer communities are left on the waitlist

•           Create an “accelerator” program to provide state support for urgent needs, like repairs to a roof or heating system, ensuring schools stay open and students keep learning.

Please reach out to your lawmakers and urge their support for this bill. Help them understand the need for boosting school infrastructure across Maine.

Below you’ll find links to talking points, a sample letter you can send, as well as how to find and contact your local legislators. Please reach out as soon as possible! Thank you!
