School Board members are encouraged to come to the State House on Tuesday, May 9, to meet with their legislators, visit the House and Senate, and show support for public education.
Board members are asked to gather at 9:30 a.m. on the main floor of the Cross Office building (up the stairs to the front entrance), which is the building to the right of the State House, and walk over together to the Legislature.
We will visit both the House and Senate chambers, where we will be recognized, and also have the opportunity to meet with Gov. Janet Mills.
There are many pieces of legislation dealing with education this session and School Board voices matter when these bills are discussed and ultimately voted upon.
