Required Freedom of Access Training
As elected officials, school board members must complete a course of training on the Freedom of Access Law. One way to do it is by going to the state FOA website and conducting a thorough review of the material on the “Frequently Asked Questions” page. The website is at www.maine.gov/foaa/. Once you have completed your training, you should fill out a “Certificate of Completion” and send it to the superintendent’s office for filing. Click below for a copy of the certificate.
We remind board members that the deadline is 120 days after the oath of office is administered.
