Elaine Tomaszewski has been named acting deputy executive director of Maine School Management Association to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of current director Robert Hasson.
Tomaszewski, who has been the MSMA’s associate executive director since February of 2013, was superintendent of the Wells-Ogunquit Community School District before joining MSMA and prior to that served as the superintendent in Freeport and of Union 7, covering Saco and Dayton.
In her new role, Tomaszewski will serve as the executive director of the Maine School Superintendents Association – an organization she has been active in both as a superintendent and member of the MSMA administrative team. She served on the MSSA’s Professional Development Committee and Ethics Committee and at MSMA has been an integral part of professional development training both for superintendents and school board members.
MSMA Executive Director Dr. Connie Brown announced Dr. Hasson’s resignation today.
“Bob will be leaving MSMA on November 27 to pursue other opportunities. I want to personally thank Bob for his work and commitment to Maine schools and students on behalf of the MSMA. Bob has a rich history in Maine education, and his guidance and experience were invaluable to MSMA in fulfilling its mission. Please join me in thanking Bob for his service to MSMA, and in wishing him well in his next endeavor,” Brown said.
