Legislators today overrode the governor’s veto of the state budget, reinforcing their support for a compromise plan that includes $25 million more for schools than originally proposed by the administration.
The vote was 109 to 37 in the House and 25 to 10 in the Senate.
The budget increases GPA by $25 million over what was included in the initial 279s sent out in February. Those initial spreadsheets were based on the governor’s proposed budget before it was amended.
Now that the compromise budget has finally been passed new spreadsheets will be issued.
