Maine School Management Association presents –

Collective Bargaining/Negotiations Drive-In Meetings

We are beginning with four events in Augusta, Portland, Bangor, and Houlton.

While we cannot canvas the entire state, we are hoping you will be able to attend one of these sessions. A modest fee of $10 per participant will be invoiced for those registered. Registration includes a light meal of pizza, chips, cookies, and water.

Registration flyers are hyperlinked to each location above. We are asking for you to RSVP if you plan on attending. Please email Mary Ellen Barrett at the date and location where you plan on attending. We require a minimum of 10 registered individuals per location for each event – if we don’t get 10 registrants for a regional meeting we will not be holding the event.

Thanks for your interest and we hope to see you.

Security and Risk:  Awareness + Action = Prevention

Tuesday, May 22, 2018 – Augusta Civic Center

In light of the Parkland shootings, there is a lot of inertia surrounding school security right now causing some concerns and confusion about the next steps in securing our schools.  Information and possibly some misinformation being put forth by various vendors, agencies, and other “experts” may be creating conflicting priorities, and even possible code violations.  This one day workshop will provide information that will help us to put into perspective the relative risks that schools confront daily, to detail some “common sense” items that schools can do now to enhance overall security, and stress the importance of vulnerability assessments. Attendees will leave with an increased awareness to these issues and highlight some of the common sense actions that can be taken to improve security in our schools.

School Board Members are encouraged to attend.
